Michigan SMG is an educational simulation teaching economics, personal finance, saving and investing, stock markets, the American economic system, and the global economy. Supported by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA), students in grades 5-12 are responsible for developing and managing hypothetical investment portfolios. Over 750,000 Michigan students have participated since the beginning of the program in 1980.
