Students use this page to write down reasons for buying individual stocks. They can compute how much stock will cost if purchased, and they can use this worksheet to gain background information that will help them decide on whether or not to buy. If students are working in groups, they can vote to buy after discussion.

(Cost of one share) x (number of shares) = cost of total number of shares
How many shares should you buy - _________________________________
Cost of one share - x_______________________________
Total cost of this trade - _________________________________
Remember, if you are playing a stock market game, you will also be charged 2% for the broker fee.
****************************************************************************************************************************************
(Cost of total number of shares) x (broker fee) = new total cost for shares purchased
EXAMPLE:
Sherry and CeCe buy 20 shares of General Electric. A share costs $22.00. Compute total cost to Sherry and CeCe:
$22.00 x 20 = $440.00
(2% broker fee needs to be converted to a decimal and multiplied by the total cost)
$440.00 x 0.02 = $8.80
(broker fee ® must now be added to total cost of purchase.)
$440.00 + $8.80 = $448.80
