Poster Activity

 

    In this activity, students will pick one Michigan company and collect some data about it and display information on a poster. This can be an individual or group project. All data can be collected at http://finance.yahoo.com/. Before you go to that site, you will need the ticker symbol for each company.  Click here for a list of the top 50 companies in Michigan. The purpose for this activity is to familiarize the students with researching a company and identifying with companies that are based in Michigan. The following information can be found at the finance.yahoo.com website:

Assignment Guidelines

1.    Company name

2.    Current stock price (last trade)

3.    Price per Earnings (P/E)

4.    Earnings per Share (EPS)

5.    Market cap (small, medium or large)

6.    Locations of company, some may have locations outside of Michigan

7.    Company website

8.    Industry

9.    How many employees the company has

10.  Short paragraph (or two) describing what this company produces or services they provide.

11.  A graph showing the stock price over the last 52 weeks.

12.  Read current news articles. Add 2 or 3 to your poster.

13.  Bar graph showing last few years (determined by teacher) of revenues, profits, and debt, etc.
